Sankyo, a Shizuoka-based commissioned manufacturer of health-care foods and cosmetics (e.g. capsules and pills), acquired Halal certification for some production lines at its Hinode factory.

Sankyo Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer and exporter of automatic soft capsule processors and has also branched out into producing health-care food and cosmetics.

Its Hinode factory previously obtained GMP, FSSC22000 and NSF-GMP certifications by the Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association. Now it has Halal certification from the Japan Islamic Trust (JIT). JIT is a Japanese Islamic body recognized by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).

Sankyo is now ready to export and obtain Halal certification with cooperation from a hydrogen-related manufacturer/distributor, which aims to strengthen exports to Indonesia, Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries.
