Look East Policy:
In 1982, under Mahathir Mohamad’s term as Prime Minister, Malaysia adopted the Look East Policy, which encouraged Malaysia to develop its socio-economic development by learning from Japan. From 1982 until now, Japan welcomed about 12,000 trainees and students.
When they return to Malaysia, they act as important bridges between the two countries, working at the front line in various fields.
